The Palac Akropolis operates as an independent venue. In 1991, the ""Zizkov Theatre and Music Agency Ltd."", undertook the general reconstruction of the pre-war Akropolis theatre. Akropolis programmes theatre, music, fine arts, photography, and dance productions, as well as the ""This is East"" Festival of East European Theatre, the ""United Colours of Akropolis"" new world music festival and the ""EuroConnections Festival"" of young music bands.
