The Líšen Theatre Company was founded in 1998 by Pavla Dombrovská and Luděk Vémola, former members of the famous Studio Dům theatre company from Brno, where they performed in many productions of Eva Talská. Here Dombrovská directed her first production The Dark Mistress that received an award in 1996 for the best Czech amateur performance. Lisen Theatre strives to create experimental theatre – music and dance improvisation, puppet theatre, etc. Unlike many other professional theatre companies who are pressured by deadlines, the Líšeň Theatre has the ideal advantage that it can explore all the possibilities of the chosen performing way in depth, until they feel that they have tried everything and there is nothing what can be forgotten. The artists´ home is also the seat of the theatre, where the company rehearses in their loft, rooms, in the backyard, and in the nearby forest.
