The Polárka Theatre

he Polárka Theatre was established in 1999. The originality and charm of this theatre lays in its programme direction, which is divided in two independent streams: work for children and the work for adult audiences (above all for young people). In its performances for children, Polárka Theatre tries to provide the little spectators with a playful look at contemporary, un-known, or classical fairy tales. It is not possible to overlook the co-operation with young theatre makers, above all with the current students and graduates of JAMU. The programme for adults presents a breakthrough in current dramaturgy and began during the 2000/2001 season. The Polárka Theatre offers three basic types of programme: staged readings, musical concerts and theatre performances, which continuously create a backbone of the evening programme.
